A series of paintings that re consider the function and all too familiar form of the table. Tables have been a cornerstone of our everyday lives for a very long time, they can be a platform to share ideas, meals or conversation, but they can also serve as a platform for an interview, an interrogation, surgery or an autopsy. The functions of a table are as varied as they are familiar, in this series the traditional form and function of the table is abstracted, blended and distorted; in some cases beyond recognition, providing the viewer with a unique and sometimes unsettling view of something very familiar to us all.
